The DCE530 battery powered heat gun by DeWalt is everything you could ask for from a portable heat gun…minus the cords.
What makes the DCE530 a Great option?
If you are already part of the DeWalt 20V ecosystem, then this tool is a no-brainer.
But even if your not, there are a few well thought out features on the DCE530 that make it a great addition to your tool bag.
Features:
• 990 degrees Fahrenheit max output
• Dual High & Low temperature switch
• Trigger Lock-on (awsome feature)
• Built-in LED light
In addition to the Trigger Lock-on feature, the DCE530 was designed so it can lay flat on a table top.
This allows for a true hands-free operation…Great for Heat Shrinking wires!
What can you do with a Battery Powered Heat gun?
Heat guns can be used for all kinds of jobs!
In addition to heat shrinking wires, they are great for removing stickers and melting ice from locks.
Heat Shrink Tubing Applied (video)
Having a cordless heatgun like the DCE530 makes simple electrical repairs a breeze.
In the video below you can see how the heatgun can be laid on a flat surface to allow for “hands-free” operation.
As you can see from the video, having the ability to keep both hands free when working with your connection is a huge plus!
Not only can it be used to apply heat shrink tubing you can also use it to finish off Heat Shrink Wire Connectors. Here is an image of the kit I use that are Marine Grade rated and come standard with Dual Walled heat shrink tubing on each connector.
Since these can be very expensive (or impossible to find) at local stores, this kit is a great value.
